a lot has happened since i last blogged to y'all. obama picked biden as his vp running mate, and i was okay with it. mccain picked palin as his vp running mate (i was disappointed to learn that it was not michael palin, the monty python guy), and i raised an eyebrow in suspicion. i feebly hoped that mccain would pick joe lieberman, the republican senator from connecticut (parading in an independent's clothing) whose '06 campaign i worked so hard to derail. now, what kind of bff is johnny being toward joe? besties don't turn their back on besties! plus, that selection would have caused me to shed tears of mirth and delight. i don't want to get into politics (it's too late, anyway), but as a former hillary supporter, i'm not going to vote for an anti-feminist, socially conservative, former beauty queen governor of alaska just because she has a UTERUS. that's NOT HOW I ROLL. frankly, it's insulting that mccain's people think that a broad who hates abortion and likes guns will remind me of HILLARY MOTHERFUCKING CLINTON and entice me away from barry o'bama. just because i disagree with most of o'bama's policy (i disagree with more of mccain's), i refuse to vote for an old dude just because his vp pick is a traitor to the women's rights movement and, i must reiterate, IS NOT MICHAEL PALIN.
- prince caspian: probably not as good as the book, but the girl who plays susan was awesome. also can't hurt that it appeals to christians.
- sex and the city: reminded me why i hate the tv show. generally despicable, though i didn't want to slap carrie as often as i normally do.
- kung fu panda: better acting and better script than satc. sad.
- get smart: steve carrell's best film since the 40-year-old virgin...or anchorman?
- mamma mia!: disappointingly, not as good as the broadway version. choreography was mediocre and some of the actors really, really couldn't sing...
- pineapple express: you don't even have to be high to enjoy it, which really lends seth rogen credibility. two thumbs up.
- tropic thunder: pretty good, but pineapple express is a hard act to follow. perhaps ben stiller should take a tip from seth rogen and get high while he screenwrites? and hands down, tom cruise's finest acting role.
- hamlet 2: enjoyable, though one of the more sacrilegious films i've seen. hopefully jesus and shakespeare both have senses of humor.

Here's my rundown on your movie reviews:
Prince Caspian - need to see it but didn't get around to it... I guess I will have to hit it up on video. I just kind of want to reread the books before watching it. Like I have time for that.
Sex and the City - I had just started watching the show a little bit, and it totally spoiled everything for me, thus causing me to no longer Tivo it. Plus, I was just angry at Samantha (is she the promiscuous one?) for being a crappo and ... bleh ... I don't know. It's just irritating.
kung fu panda - might see it; kind of ambivalent
get smart - so it's that good, huh? I want to watch it so bad. His facial expressions are hilarious!
mamma mia! - I was going to see this with my mom and still might, as it's still out, right? even if it's not that great, it still has Colin Firth, after all.
pineapple express - the fight scenes were definitely hilarious... I think 1/5 of the dialgue in the movie was "fuck"
tropic thunder - wanna see it!!!!!
hamlet 2 - will not see this! bleh!

loved the political shizzz
im an obama supporter, but still not an antihillary person.
just wondering ... were you dissapointed when obama didn't pick hillary as his running mate? my cousin was uber pissed, thats why im wondering.
your analysis of mccain's vp pick was hallarious and im so glad that former hillary supporters arnt going to stab fellow democrats in the back just because palin 'has a uterus'!! that made me laugh unspeakably hard, by the way :]
toodle pip!

jessi - lolz, you're right on the money with pineapple express. xD and mamma mia! (exclamation point!) is good, but it seems like the screenwriter drank too much red bull. colin firth is absolutely fabulous, however. :P
aurelie - frankly, i never thought that o'bama (i'm silly and pretend he's the irishman barry o'bama) would pick hillary for vp...they hate each other! their platforms are too different! biden is okay...a working-class kid originally from pennsylvania...that was hillary's constituency, so o'bama/biden should do well. and sarah palin just PISSES ME OFF. (oh the dramz!) and like, michael palin (the python) is a hero of mine, and i hate that this broad (whose only qualification for vice president is a UTERUS) has usurped his surname. i'm adding the FUNNIEST youtube vid from p. diddy to my original blog post...i love puffy.
oh, and glad you like we gryffies, btw. :)
